Government Plans to Regulate Digital Currencies: PM Shehbaz

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Wednesday that the government is working on creating rules for digital currencies. During a meeting with the Economic Advisory Council (EAC), he said that discussions are ongoing to understand the benefits and risks of using digital currencies. The PM believes that the world is moving towards digital currencies, and Pakistan needs to prepare for this change.
The EAC members expressed their support for the government’s economic plans and shared ideas to help the economy grow. PM Shehbaz welcomed their suggestions and asked officials to work with the council to create a detailed action plan. He stressed that economic stability is a team effort and requires everyone to work together.
The PM also talked about the importance of regional trade, improving local industries, and increasing exports. He mentioned that the government is focusing on agriculture, IT development, job creation, and setting up green data centers. Efforts are also being made to improve internet access in remote areas, which will help freelancers and boost IT exports.
PM Shehbaz emphasized turning discussions into practical steps. The meeting participants agreed that Pakistan’s economy is stable and growing. They praised the government’s economic team for proving critics wrong and creating a business-friendly environment. They also appreciated the PM’s efforts to bring institutional reforms, which they said were unprecedented in Pakistan’s history.
